World For Christ Crusade was incorporated in Andhra Pradesh, India in 1983.. World For Christ Ministries is involved in getting National Missionaries to work with us in Literature Evangelism, Bible College Training, and Church Planting.
What is a National Missionary?
A National Missionary is a person who is working full-time in his own country to evangelize his own people. These are the ones that can reach their own people because they know the language and customs so well.
Why Have National Missionaries?
Most Asian Countries are closed to missionaries from the United States or at least restricted. Two-thirds of the people of the World who have never heard the Gospel live in these closed Countries. The average cost of supporting an American Missionary family is over $40,000. per year, however, the same funds can support many national missionaries. These nationals live at the level of the people they minister to and therefore, are respected.
How are National Missionaries Selected and Trained?
Nationals must submit a completed application form to the Headquarters Office. The applicants accepted at this point, will be visited and verified by an experienced field representative who will consult with other leaders who know the applicant.
Then they will get their training under the leadership of an older Christian Worker, through Seminar’s on the Bible, or attend Bible School.
Do national Missionaries Receive Any Evangelism Aids for Their Work?
World For Christ will provide such vital essentials as Gospel literature, Bibles, bicycles, films, tapes, as well as assisting in building village Churches if necessary.
How Can I Support a National Missionary?
Asia has one of the fastest growing bodies of believers in the World. Your partnership with a national missionary will affect thousands of lives each year and enable you to obey God’s commandment to help fulfill the Great Commission.
St. Lucia
On May 28, 1990, nine acres of land, on the West Coast of the Island of St. Lucia, was registered to World For Christ Ministries. It seems like yesterday when we landed in a small boat on the sandy beach and climbed the steep rocky hillside to a beautiful flat piece of land that overlooks the deep blue Caribbean Sea. The land was a jungle of trees, rocks and brush. We thought then, would we ever see a building built here since there were no roads, no electric, or even water available? But God had a plan and a way. We have seen God take the impossibilities and make them realities. For example, within a few months the British Government gave the Island money, equipment, and engineers to build the West Coast Highway which passes by the property. Also, poles were put in and for the first time electricity came to this end of the Island.
We contacted an architect and then a builder and miracles began to happen. A building began to take shape. For two years the workers lived at the site while building the Mission from the rocks found on the property. Sand, cement, blocks, and lumber had to carried from the main highway by hand down the rocky pathway to the property below.
Today, a beautiful Mission House, built by faith, stands as a monument to God’s faithfulness. Recently a Chapel was added to the building where the Village people can come to pray, worship, and fellowship together.
For the past ten years, we have been witnessing to the people of St. Lucia. Bibles have been distributed to many hungry for the Word of God. Children that were just babies are now grown and many have accepted Christ as Savior. Some have said that it was our prayers and support that encouraged them to stay in school. Below is a letter from a grandmother who lived with her children and many grandchildren in a one room wooden shack. World For Christ Ministries has helped her build a larger house. Her simple letter, written by her grandson, expresses her appreciation.
Dear. Rev. & Mrs. Ann,
I would like to thank you for everything you and your family have done for me. Thank you very much for all you have done for me last year. God will bless both of you. All of my family loves you. - Sandra
